I bought a sequined suit from a pearly queen
And she could drink more wine than I'd ever seen
She had some gypsies' blood flowing through her feet
And when the time was right she said that I would meet
My destiny
I traveled round the world to find the sun
I couldn't stop myself from having fun
And then one day I met an Indian girl
And she made me forget this troubled world
We're living in
I had a strange dream. In my hair
I saw a pearly queen lying there
And all around her feet flowers bloomed
But they were made of silk and sequins two by two

TRAFFIC : LIVE 1972 IN SANTA MONICA
The first time I heard Traffic was in Vermont. It was maybe 1986 and I was 23. I wondered then how I could never have heard of a band so wonderful. We were riding in the back of a pick up truck somewhere outside of Stowe. A stoney sunny mountain waterfall morning. A Sunday as I recall, on a Memorial day weekend. A cassette tape! John Barlycorn Must Die. BANG! Awakening ephifiny and never the same again. Thank God.

Bring back the rock/jazz flute and other instruments; sax, harmonica, etc!
I love Ian Anderson's trademark dazzling, energetic flute/vocals/awriting, but Chris Wood did a great low key job on flute/sax with classic Traffic tunes. The flute adds a mysterious quality effect to the music.
